While living in Riga, Latvia (a former republic of the Soviet Union), my fellow colleagues and I were asked to do some translation and service work for the Secret Service.  President Bill Clinton came to Riga for a speech, and we had the opportunity to serve as translators and chaperones.

Assisting the Secret Service was a great honor.  I was given access to secured areas with a special badge.  I was able to use my Russian language and cultural skills together, as I assisted people coming to and from the speech. This experience is one of many which show my ability to adapt to different cultures and environments.
